Fly Fishing Books
Fly Fishing Books – Let’s Take A Look
I want to take this opportunity to look at some of the Fly Fishing books that are available for you to buy, that can really boost your skill level when it comes to not only tying flies but also your actual fishing technique as well. Many of these books are available on Amazon.com but the first book I want to discuss is actually a downloadable ebook written by William Carter.
William’s book is one of the most extensive ever written on the subject yet he has managed to remove all of the fluff and filler that you sometimes find in physical books.
Unlike a lot of fly fishing books; the techno jargon is kept to a minimum, as he only includes straight talk about which fly fishing techniques work and which ones don’t.
In addition to the main book there are also 7 other books that are included free, so that you basically get 8 books for the price of one.

The Fly Tier’s Benchside Reference
This is a FIVE STAR book from Amazon with a least 45 buy reviews available to check it out.
Rather than have me hype this one up, I’ll just include some user reviews:
Don’t assume you’ll learn a lot of new fly patterns in this book. It doesn’t have any patterns, only techniques. Are you having problems getting wings to stand up? This book shows you multiple ways. The techniques you use to perform any job in fly tying that I can think of are in this book, as well as variations on many of these techniques. It’s not the only book on fly tying you’ll want, because you’ll want some patterns, also. That won’t stop it from being the most important fly tying book youbuy, however.
This one is a modern classic.
If you tie flies, then you must have this book. I can’t imagine a question that could be asked about the art of fly tying that this book does not answer. Get a copy now!!
